In astrology, when we think of the 12th house, concepts like expenses, losses, isolation, imprisonment, hospital stays, and death immediately come to mind. However, just like any other house, the 12th house also has a positive perspective. Events in life don’t occur solely due to one house; rather, they are the result of combinations of 2-3 houses that lead to a particular event. In other words, when one house forms a relationship with one or two other houses, an event occurs. Of course, dasha and antar dasha (periods and sub-periods) also need to be supportive, but that’s a separate point.
In the KP system, it is said that a single house doesn’t create an event—2 or 3 houses or even more need to form a combination for an event to take place. For example, when there is a combination of 2, 7, 9, and 11 houses, marriage becomes possible.
Now, let’s focus on the 12th house. In some positive events, the 12th house’s support is essential. For instance, when purchasing a new house, the horoscope must show a combination of the 4th, 2nd, 11th, and 12th houses. The 4th house represents a new house, the 2nd house represents wealth and finances for the new home, the 12th house represents expenses for buying the home, and the 11th house represents the fulfillment of desires.
Another example: when the 3rd, 9th, and 12th houses are activated in the horoscope, they indicate long-distance travel. The 3rd house is the 12th from the 4th house, meaning it indicates leaving one’s current home or town. The 9th house suggests long-distance travel, and the 12th house signifies living abroad, a new place, a new culture, new people, and a new environment.
Another example: when the 2nd, 12th, and 11th houses are activated, the native may make a fixed deposit in a bank. The 2nd house represents finances, the 12th house indicates expenses (since the money is placed in the bank), and the 11th house represents the fulfillment of desires and profits.
Therefore, when we think of the 12th house, we should not view it only in terms of losses but also recognize its positive aspects.
