Effects of the Eleventh House – Gains, Desires, and Fulfillment (BPHS Chapter 22)

Introduction

The Eleventh House (Labha Bhava) governs gains, desires, income, elder siblings, network circles, and fulfillment of ambitions. BPHS Chapter 22 explains how the placement of the 11th lord determines wealth, support systems, and how easily one’s wishes are fulfilled.

Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra  Shlokas with Translation and Interpretation

Shloka 1

लाभेशो यदि लग्ने सदा लाभसमन्वितः।
धनिकः प्रियवाद्यपि मित्रसंघसमन्वितः॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the Ascendant, the native will always enjoy gains, be wealthy, pleasant in speech, and surrounded by friends.

Shloka 2

धनस्थे लाभनाथे च लाभवृद्धिसमन्वितः।
बहुधन्यः सुखी धर्मी धर्मार्थपरायणः॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the 2nd, the native will increase gains, be wealthy, happy, virtuous, and devoted to dharma and prosperity.

Shloka 3

तृतीयस्थे लाभनाथे भ्रातृवृद्धिसमन्वितः।
शुभकारी सदा सौम्यः पराक्रमी यशस्विनः॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the 3rd, the native will benefit through siblings, be gentle, courageous, and famous.

Shloka 4

चतुर्थस्थे लाभनाथे सुखवान् गृहरत्नवान्।
मातृप्रीतः सदा सौम्यः शास्त्रज्ञः कलासंपदः॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the 4th, the native will have domestic comforts, property, maternal affection, and be skilled in arts and scriptures.

Shloka 5

पंचमे लाभनाथे च सुतवृद्धिसमन्वितः।
विद्यायुक्तो धर्मयुक्तो ज्ञानी सत्यपरायणः॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the 5th, the native will be blessed with children, be educated, virtuous, knowledgeable, and truthful.

Shloka 6

षष्ठस्थे लाभनाथे शत्रुहिंसासमन्वितः।
लाभहानिः सदा तस्य दुःखितो मानसी क्लिष्टः॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the 6th, the native will be troubled by enemies, lose gains, and suffer mental distress.

Shloka 7

सप्तमे लाभनाथे च पतिसंगसमन्वितः।
सुखी स्त्रीप्रियवाक्यश्च लाभवृद्धिसमन्वितः॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the 7th, the native will be happy with spouse, speak affectionately, and always gain through partnerships.

Shloka 8

अष्टमे लाभनाथे च लाभहानिः सदा भवेत्।
विपत्तियोगो दुःखश्च वञ्चनायुक्त एव च॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the 8th, the native will suffer loss of wealth, face misfortunes, sorrow, and deceit.

Shloka 9

नवमे लाभनाथे च भाग्यवृद्धिसमन्वितः।
धर्मवान् सुखसंयुक्तो गुरुसेवी यशस्विनः॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the 9th, the native will be fortunate, religious, happy, devoted to teachers, and earn fame.

Shloka 10

दशमे लाभनाथे च कर्मवृद्धिसमन्वितः।
राजसेवी गुणसम्पन्नो बहुलाभसमन्वितः॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the 10th, the native will prosper in career, serve the government, be virtuous, and earn abundantly.

Shloka 11

स्वस्थाने लाभनाथे च सर्वसम्पद्विवृद्धिकृत्।
लाभी सुखी च सर्वज्ञो विद्वान् धर्मरतः सदा॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in its own house, the native will gain all kinds of wealth, be happy, knowledgeable, and devoted to righteousness.

Shloka 12

व्यये लाभनाथे च व्ययवृद्धिसमन्वितः।
लाभहानिः सदा तस्य विपत्तिप्रचुरो भवेत्॥

Translation: If the 11th lord is in the 12th, the native will have increasing expenses, loss of wealth, and face many misfortunes.

Conclusion

The Eleventh House is the house of fulfillment. A strong and well-placed 11th lord ensures flow of income, successful networks, and overall progress. If afflicted, it leads to unfulfilled desires, struggles with income, and broken alliances.
